W2 $67-$75 an hour Job Description: The Business Systems Analyst serves as a strategic liaison between business units and IT, leveraging a deep understanding of both business processes and technology to help stakeholders achieve their goals. This role is instrumental in identifying and documenting the capabilities required to address business challenges and enabling technology solutions to meet those needs. A strong grasp of agile methodologies and practices is essential, as the analyst will apply this knowledge to drive projects forward. Essential job functions Business Needs Assessment : Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs, gather requirements, and coordinate efforts to address them through technology and process improvements. Consultative Support : Provide expert guidance on business-led technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with IT to ensure efficient delivery of business requirements and alignment with project goals. Solution Design & Prototyping : Co-create prototypes and innovative solutions with business units to enhance processes and deliver value. Industry & Technology Awareness : Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation. Product Backlog Management : Stocking : Continuously contribute to the product backlog by creating epics and user stories that reflect the scope of improvements. Grooming : Maintain a well-organized backlog by prioritizing, refining, and detailing user stories to ensure clarity and usability. Requirements Gathering : Work closely with business partners to elicit high-level and detailed requirements, define user journeys, and ensure user-centric design. Stakeholder Engagement : Influence project decisions, assess risks, and balance competing demands to deliver optimal solutions. Standards & Quality Assurance : Promote architectural consistency, usability standards, and best practices. Define and execute test cases to ensure quality. Process Optimization : Identify and implement efficiency improvements and product enhancements with measurable outcomes. Ownership & Accountability : Take initiative and drive assigned tasks to completion with minimal oversight. Process Analysis & Design : Conduct thorough analyses of business and system processes to support design changes aligned with organizational goals. Stakeholder Management : Navigate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders to ensure cross-departmental alignment. Agile Facilitation : Support agile ceremonies including stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, and sprint planning to foster collaboration and performance. Quality Assurance Support : Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements. Project & Program Support : Contribute to various initiatives that align with Business Relationship Management (BRM) goals and IT strategy. Minimum qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 35 years of experience managing IT and/or business projects. Experience with large-scale projects and handling day-to-day operational business requests. Preferred qualifications Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field as well as equivalent work experience Pension experience preferred Knowledge, skills, and abilities Proficiency in both Waterfall and Agile/Lean methodologies. Ability to translate business and functional requirements into use cases, epics, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria. Skilled in resource estimation and communicating project benefits. Strong risk assessment, problem-solving, negotiation, and influencing capabilities. Proven ability to engage developers and business partners to achieve desired outcomes. Excellent multitasking, relationship-building, and communication skills. Data analysis proficiency using SQL or Microsoft Excel. Understanding of systems engineering concepts and cost/benefit analysis. Experience in business case development and process flow modeling. Exposure to diverse technical environments. Strong consensus-building and communication skills.
