Manage the review and approval of various OSP engineered permit designs prior to submitting applications within multiple states and jurisdictions. This includes working with state, county, city and other municipalities; Department of Transportation (DOT), Railroad crossings, easement & right of way (ROW) encroachments, power and utility companies for aerial pole placement and attachments, and other regional permitting entities while using the tools required. Responsibilities
Perform review of OSP engineering and construction designs for compliance with project goals, standards and permitting requirements. Identify & redline missing and/or incorrect design information by documenting & communicating quality issues with engineering and engineering managers. Approve or reject designs as needed before permit submittals can proceed. Prepare, submit and track all necessary permit applications, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional standards and timely approval. Coordinate with permitting agencies to resolve issues preventing or delaying the permitting process. Update permit status in company used programs; ArcGIS Pro and QuickBase. Qualifications:
3+ years of OSP engineering experience. Understanding of Design and Construction in the Outside Plant facilities and Fiber Optic Cable placement field (UG, Aerial, and Buried) required. Strong understanding of the permitting process, (highway, railroad, city, county, etc.) Responsible for building permitting relationships and acting as the liaison between Ripple Fiber and all permitting authorities. Monitor QuickBase and effectively communicate the status of each permit to relevant stakeholders. Maintain and monitor regular communication with internal teams and vendor partners. Act as the primary liaison with governing authority and internal teams to ensure permit applications are accurately submitted on time to meet project schedules and forecasts.
