Job Description
Snelling is looking for an exceptional Project Manager to work at a custom fabrication shop in the Bessemer area. This position offers a great salary of $70,000 and has a 1st shift schedule.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Project Manager is a valuable member of their division management team. Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, this role will supervise and lead engineering; organize and monitor the workflow of day-to-day operations to ensure high-quality, on-time and on budget projects and products.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES OF PROJECT MANAGER:
- Collaborate and lead the organization as a member of our leadership team.
- Development of subordinate’s skills. Teach, Mold and Mentor.
- Lead and assist all Engineering and Drafting personnel under the direction of the Plant Manager.
- Responsible for all project execution customer communications to ensure seamless communication and successful project delivery through close collaboration with customers
- Plan, establish and execute work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals and delivery deadlines.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, weld symbols and technical specs.
- Participate in troubleshooting, evaluation/implementation of new techniques and processes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF PROJECT MANAGER:
· Education – bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing or similar/related program. In lieu of degree, Trade School and/or Vocational Training in the Management of Blueprint Reading, Welding, Fabrication or equivalent work history.
· Job Experience - To ensure success as a Metal Fabricator Shop Supervisor, you should have advanced knowledge of industrial metalwork, a good eye for detail, and excellent mathematical skills. Ultimately, a top-class Metal Fabricator expertly constructs high-quality products to exact specifications. Familiarity with MIG, TIG and Stick welding operations.
· Related - Prior experience working on expansion joints and dampers is a plus. AutoCAD and Microsoft Project experience a plus.
