Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, Operations - Maintenance and Engineering - Mineola.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting the Director of Engineering in day-to-day supervision of the operation and maintenance of the physical plant, facilities, Engineering Department staff and all related functions. Will assist in the development and implementation of a computerized maintenance management software system (CMMS). Develops implements and monitors standard operating procedures and work assignments - as well as the ongoing corrective and preventive maintenance of all related equipment and systems. Participates in the screening and selection of new employees. Identifies and reviews the educational and training needs of the Engineering Department staff. Reviews the overall performance and competency of Engineering Department Plant personnel and ensures employee compliance with all Hospital and departmental policies. Directs the function of staff in the completion of assignments and tasks. Responsible for the procurement of supplies, tools and materials.

Job Responsibilities:

* Performs other duties as assigned * Monitors and directs the day-to-day activities and operation of the Engineering Department office staff. Ensures continuous and uninterrupted provision of services through careful coordination of manpower and resources. Routinely inspects the facility to identify needed interaction of the Engineering Department to maintain the facility in optimum condition. * Ensures that the CMMS system is being properly utilized by Engineering Department staff. Identifies, develops, implements and monitors standard operating procedures and work assignments as well as the ongoing corrective and preventive maintenance of all related equipment and systems. * Ensures that the CMMS system is being properly utilized by Engineering Department staff. Makes changes or enhancements as needed to the CMMS system to ensure system meets all users needs. Responds to inquires of service-related issues and ensures timely feedback. * Identifies, develops, implements and monitors standard operating procedures and work assignments as well as the ongoing corrective and preventive maintenance of all related equipment and systems. Maintains the accuracy of all preventive maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion. * Ensures that all documentation and records are maintained in a neat, orderly and up-to-date manner, and organized in presentable order. * Properly maintains the Engineering Department files for the logging in and processing of all Purchase Requisitions. Ensures timely processing of all Purchase Requisitions. * Responsible for the operation of the department in the absence of the Director of Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Engineering, architecture or other equivalent technical field. 6 - 8 years Experience in Facilities Management operations or related field, preferably Healthcare. Military or Merchant Marine experience will be considered. 1 - 2 years Progressive supervisory and managerial experience, preferably in a unionized physical plant setting. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, leadership skills. Able to demonstrate knowledge of all pertinent codes and regulations. Able to read and follow technical documents, manuals, drawings, schematics, specifications and blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree Engineering, architecture or other equivalent technical field. Proficient in the use of computer (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Project as well as CMMS).

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $84,098.72 - $129,829.57 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
