Press Brake Operator
We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Technician/Press Brake Operator who will be responsible for fabricating various materials such as steel, titanium, and aluminum to meet engineering drawing requirements. Responsibilities: Clock into jobs using the ERP system. Understand different material types. Manipulate materials with proper tooling. Use form tooling/templates to determine shapes of parts. Utilize check fixtures for parts. Operate press brakes, hydro presses, and roll form equipment to fabricate parts from various metals. Use pneumatic tools such as dotcos, straight grinders, polishing wheels, drill motors, and orbital sanders. Read calipers, micrometers, straight edges, radius gauges, and protractors. Understand flatness, straightness, and angles and how to form them. Comprehend allowed working time for forming. Possess knowledge of tempers and gauges of materials. Recognize corrosion and changes after heat treatment. Ensure proper handling and containment of parts to be processed. Understand proper surface preparation. Take responsibility for the quality of your own work. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Essential Skills: Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Proficient in working with hands and knowledgeable about tools. Capable of using and operating a forklift (certification required). Professional communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers across different shifts. Ability to listen, take direction, and work well with coworkers. Basic math skills. Familiarity with and capability of using basic and specialty hand tools, including precision measuring equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 1 year of fabrication or similar manufacturing experience preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
