We are looking for a Litigation Legal Secretary for an amazing firm's Toledo office! As a Litigation Legal Secretary, you will manage administrative and organizational tasks to support attorneys in preparing for lawsuits and trials, including drafting documents, managing calendars, preparing for hearings and trials, filing court documents electronically, maintaining case files, and communicating with clients and court personnel. They need strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Document Management
: Draft, format, proofread, and file legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, subpoenas, and exhibits.
Case File Organization
: Open, close, retrieve, and maintain physical and electronic case files.
Calendaring & Scheduling : Schedule depositions, hearings, and trials, and maintain attorneys' calendars.
Court Filings
: Handle the electronic filing of documents with various courts and administrative bodies.
Communication
: Liaise with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and other parties.
Trial Preparation
: Assist in preparing trial notebooks and assembling exhibits for court appearances and meetings.
Administrative Support
: Perform general administrative tasks like preparing expense reports, managing mail, and entering attorney billable time.
Research
: Conduct and summarize legal research for litigation attorneys.
