Day Shift, 10:00am-6:30pm;

Our

Sterile Processing Department

is a critical unit responsible for the lifecycle management of medical instruments and equipment for 3 operating rooms at Forsyth Medical Center.

This will include cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing these items. The Sterile Processing Department ensures that instruments and equipment are available, properly maintained, and ready for immediate use, ultimately supporting patient care. Education:

High School Diploma or GED, required. Experience:

One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred. Licensure/Certification:

Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required. Additional Skills (required):

Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification. Responsibilities:

The Sterile Processing Certified Technician is responsible for providing clean, properly packaged, sterile instruments and supplies to meet individual customer needs.
