Director of Real Property Tax Services III

St. Lawrence County is in search of a Director of Real Property Tax Services III.

Salary Range: $95,302 – $118,108

Duties of the position: The work involves professional and administrative responsibility for directing a County Real Property

Tax Service and Appraisal Department for City and Town Assessors and the County Equalization Agency, providing accurate,

timely information and advice on real property appraisal, equalization and assessment. Work is performed under the general

direction of the County Administrator and is subject to general review by the State Board of Real Property Services.

Supervision is exercised over the work of appraisal, technical and clerical staff. The incumbent does related work as required.

The Director of Real Property Tax Services III oversees countywide property valuation, revaluation projects, and tax rate

determinations while ensuring compliance with state and local requirements. This role supports cities and towns by

maintaining tax maps, providing expert appraisals, guiding assessors, and administering municipal tax programs. Additional

duties include managing property sales, supervising staff, advising on complex valuation issues, and directing the County's

geographic information system (GIS).
