Lerner Tower 7 is a 30 bed telemetry unit with 9 beds that are capable of flexing to a stepdown level of care. Specifically, our focus is on Vascular Surgery, Electrophysiology and Interventional Cardiology, including care of the TAVR patient population. Learn more about the unit in the link below:

Position Summary/Essential Duties:

To maintain the nursing staff in all areas as well as to deliver safe efficient age specific nursing care to patient/families. Essential duties include:

1. Routinely provide patient care.

2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.

3. Maintains employee records.

4. Identifies needs for and provides Staff education/staff development.

5. Participates in Discharge planning, community resource referrals and education.

6. Committee involvement, participate with quality improvement initiatives.

7. Oversees daily operations of unit/area in a cost effective manner.

8. Involved in Community outreach activities as pertinent Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.

9. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.

10. Displays commitment to the mission and values of the organization

Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications: Experience and Knowledge:

Meets qualification of 1-2 years clinical experience Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic. Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers. Demonstrated ability to handle high pressure situations with professionalism and integrity. Knowledge of current technology and equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies PC and computer applications Education:

• Associate in Science Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master in Nursing (MN) from accredited program required within 2 years of hire date.

Required Credentials, License, and/or Certifications:

• Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.

Certification in a specialty clinical area or leadership is required within 2 years of hire date BLS Required and ALS & PALS may be required based on area's requirements Physical Demands
