The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to create, develop and sustain ongoing professional relationships with national/regional healthcare practitioners and facilitate education regarding current and upcoming therapies developed and commercialized by Travere. Ensures access to current medical and scientific information on Travere products and areas of therapeutic interest to targeted key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), Managed Market and Long-Term Care (LTC) stakeholders and decision makers consistent with company and the Medical Affairs Department. Responsibilities : Demonstrate deep scientific expertise about assigned molecules/products and therapy areas to exchange information with top-tier thought leaders and healthcare decision makers within specific regions. Identify and develop relationships with national and regional medical and scientific thought leaders, patient advocacy groups and centers of excellence in line with Company strategy and objectives. Actively contribute to launch activities for sparsentan in FSGS and IgA Nephropathy. Foster productive partnerships with KOLs in medical education and clinical/scientific research; build, cultivate, and leverage relationships with external scientific/medical customers and organizations to understand evolving healthcare trends and identify practice change opportunities. Engage in continuous learning within the therapeutic area and participate in upskilling programs related to molecules, products, disease states and business topics. Build working relationships across internal matrix partners to support an enterprise approach with internal and external customers. Serve as a scientific expert at medical conferences, advisory boards, roundtables, investigator meetings, and internal meetings. Drive development and execution of medical education strategies that align KOLs with scientific objectives and strengthen advocacy. Contribute to publication planning, development of medical education materials and internal training. Maintain cross-functional collaboration with Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Medical Information, Medical Communications and Commercial/Field Sales. Assist with sponsored research (site identification, recruitment) and investigator-initiated research (conduit, protocol champion, status updates). Deliver medical presentations to physicians, pharmacists and nurses, summarizing complex information effectively. Assist internal stakeholders as the scientific/medical expert during managed market/payer engagement to convey value proposition, safety and efficacy of sparsentan with formulary information and relevant data. Assist Patient Advocacy in creating and delivering scientific/medical information to ensure understanding of disease mechanisms for IgA Nephropathy and FSGS. Adhere to corporate compliance in all activities, including clinical trials and scientific interactions. Education/Experience Requirements: Advanced degree strongly preferred (e.g., Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in a relevant scientific discipline. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered. Minimum 5 years of relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience as a Medical Science Liaison; consideration will be given to comparable experience in research and/or pharmaceutical roles. Nephrology experience and established KOL contacts in nephrology/renal pathology and rare disease are a plus; other relevant therapeutic areas may be considered. New product launch experience is a plus. Additional Skills/Experience: Effective communicator with the ability to present and discuss clinical research, compliance, healthcare costs and product value proposition. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to address educational and research needs with cutting-edge scientific data. Ability to discuss complex topics in a peer-to-peer manner and build relationships. Strategic and creative thinking; ability to manage projects and multi-disciplinary teams. Knowledge of implementation science approaches and FDA guidelines and regulations. Ability to travel up to 50%+; field-based role with in-territory emphasis and some weekend work may be required. Face-to-face work with colleagues/on-site presence in San Diego as needed.
