You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S., as you take on some tough challenges. We are looking for Software Engineers to work on an exciting project new to Optum, including a green-field, AWS-based set of applications using microservice and serverless technology. The team will be DevOps-oriented with strong API and UI components.
AWS experience is preferred but not required. We have a high success rate in teaching AWS and other technologies. The main requirement is a strong sense of curiosity, the desire to learn, and the ability to work well in a team. This is a rare opportunity to be on the cutting edge of healthcare technology.
Responsibilities Demonstrates ability to quickly learn and appropriately apply new technologies to solve engineering problems.
Maintain awareness of technology trends and participate actively in code reviews.
Design, develop, and implement solutions that exemplify modern software engineering practices.
Enhance system design/architecture to improve resiliency in interactions and dependencies.
Implement and continuously improve agile software delivery, code management, and operations practices.
Reuse and/or develop components to solve complex problems and needs.
Owns the technical debt backlog and high-level plans.
Contribute to architecture/design, technology and tool decisions and implementations.
Mentor junior team members in modern engineering practices and patterns.
Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions using no-code/low-code and advanced platforms to translate business needs into scalable applications.
Responsibilities are performed in a collaborative, high-cooperation agile environment.
Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED (or higher).
6+ years of relevant work experience.
3+ years of experience in one or more enterprise languages; GoLang and Python preferred.
