Construction Estimator Job at Chronos Construction Staffing in Malvern

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in plumbing and HVAC new construction projects, particularly in the multifamily and commercial sector.

About the Role

The Estimator will be responsible for accurately analyzing project documents, preparing detailed cost estimates, and supporting the business development team to secure profitable projects. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, general contractors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing for plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor quotes.
• Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies.
• Work closely with project managers and leadership to develop bid strategies and proposals.
• Prepare complete bid packages, including scope letters, clarifications, and supporting documentation.
• Track and analyze historical data to improve accuracy of future estimates.
• Assist in handoff of awarded projects to the operations team, ensuring clarity on scope and cost breakdowns.
• Maintain strong relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Stay current with industry pricing trends, codes, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of estimating experience in plumbing and/or HVAC construction.
• Proven track record with multifamily new construction projects (required).
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, mechanical systems, and building codes.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., QuoteSoft, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
