Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and organized Construction Project Manager with a strong background in managing HCAI/OSHPD regulated healthcare projects. The ideal candidate will lead construction efforts for medical facilities, clinics, and hospital renovations or ground-up developments, ensuring compliance with HCAI guidelines and California Building Standards Code. This role requires in-depth knowledge of healthcare construction protocols, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage teams, budgets, and schedules in highly sensitive environments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout with a focus on HCAI (formerly OSHPD) compliance.

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, inspectors, HCAI field staff, and hospital facility teams to ensure project requirements are met.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets; proactively manage changes and risks.

  • Oversee subcontractor performance, contract compliance, and safety enforcement on active job sites.

  • Ensure infection control protocols (ICRA) and interim life safety measures (ILSM) are followed on healthcare projects.

  • Prepare and present project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and progress reports.

  • Lead project meetings with clients, design teams, consultants, and internal teams.

  • Manage project forecasting, billing, and cost tracking in collaboration with accounting and finance.

  • Provide leadership to project engineers, superintendents, and field personnel; serve as a primary point of contact for all stakeholders.

  • Ensure timely project completion and successful turnover, including closeout documentation and training for facility staff.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in healthcare construction

  • Strong working knowledge of HCAI/OSHPD codes, policies, procedures, and approval processes

  • Proven experience managing hospital or medical facility projects in active environments

  • Familiarity with ICRA requirements, infection control procedures, and healthcare safety standards

  • Proficient with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project)

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to build relationships with healthcare clients, regulators, and internal teams

  • Current HCAI/OSHPD or hospital construction training or certification preferred
