Basic Job Functions: Nucor Tubular Products-Cedar Springs has an opening in our Maintenance Department for a Shift Electrician. The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of electrical principles as well as practical experience as it relates to the Electrical Maintenance function. Minimum Qualifications: Two year degree, successful completion of trade school, or a minimum of three years industrial electrical experience (Manufacturing preferred) Experience in a safety sensitive environment including good safety practices. Experience in industrial electrical equipment including electrical distribution, and machine control systems. Variable Frequency Drive experience Practical experience in electrical theory as it relates to electric motors, transformers, and other 3 phase electrical equipment Experience in a team-based work environment. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, and weekends. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of automation and networking equipment and processes including: Knowledge of PID/closed loop control systems Networking tools and standards HMI troubleshooting Process instrumentation Protection Equipment NFPA 70E Training Overhead crane knowledge and repair experience Demonstrated computer skill set including experience with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and AutoCAD Ability to interpret electrical schematics for installation, repair, and maintaining equipment Basic pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge
