Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist supports the Director of Human Resources in managing all facets of HR operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the HR department, including administering employee benefits and leave programs, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Success in this position requires exceptional customer service skills, strong communication abilities, a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, adaptability, and a high level of confidentiality.
Requirements:What You'll Do
- Administer all associate benefit programs including helping to conduct open enrollment training and meetings and assisting associates with questions or enrollment problems.
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Conduct and/ or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Act as backup for new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Manage all associate documentation including employment files, medical files, time keeping records, and benefits records in compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Capable of communicating with associates in a professional manner in all areas of Human Resources.
- Manage all balance tracking for FMLA, STD
- Assist with workers’ compensation claims and work comp audits.
- Assist HR Director in the development and communication of human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.
- Assist with Employee Relations events, involved with the planning, execution and coordination of HR related company events and employee programs.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in the handling of confidential information.
- Maintains technical and professional knowledge by attending seminars, establishing networks and reviewing professional publications.
What we'd like you to have
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field.
- Five to 10 years of human resources generalist experience ideally at a senior or executive level.
- PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR certification is desired.
