Prime Air is seeking an experienced Engineer within the Product Support Organization team to drive deployment of hardware and software functionality within our guidance, navigation, and control systems, investigate issues to drive delivery on a critical program across several different disciplines. This role requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, and ability to innovate in a constrained design space. Excellent communication skills are a must to build trust and drive alignment across both design and operations spaces. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, and operational functions across all Prime Air teams, to drive efficient delivery, and decompose ambiguous problems into straightforward solutions. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer focus, problem solving skills, regulatory understanding, and the ability to convert lessons learned to requirement update requests. You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history!
Key job responsibilities
Drive the delivery of critical engineering feedback and design improvements for Prime Air drones and support systems across teams through requirement tracking, design, development and test.
Own and drive triage of issues that occur in the field
Partner with quality and design engineering teams to close feedback loops
Engage with customer teams to understand opportunities for process improvement, and drive changes
Work with other engineers to find innovative solutions within fixed design space
Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Are enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
2+ years of systems development experience
Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
Strong background in guidance, navigation, and control systems architecture
Experience developing system architecture systems in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or aerospace applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis
Experience with customer facing roles
Experience leading continuous improvement efforts and driving operational efficiency
Experience with quality systems
Experience with change management and technology deployment
Experience with design or redesign of integrated systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
