Technical Program Managers (TPMs) lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within the Technology, Marketing & Products organizations. TPMs are responsible for programs from start to finish, ensuring a better workflow and more effective communication. They work closely with executives and key partners to drive critical programs and activities across the company.
Role focus
As a Director of Technical Program Management for Digital Marketing Technology you will drive programs that create Agent-first Marketing Websites, Platforms and Events that showcase Salesforce products and drive business outcomes. This is a high-visibility role reporting to senior executives and requiring experience communicating with C-suite stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead programs by aligning scope, release planning, and cross-functional teams to the vision and business goals; craft program structure and secure alignment.
Drive software engineering processes using Agile methodologies; apply analytical and technical skills to program management.
Lead Steering Committee meetings with key partners to drive decisions, remove obstacles, and ensure business goals and strategic vision are met.
Develop strong partnerships with functional teams to align on business goals and ensure program success; serve as a trusted partner for executive management.
Coordinate cross-functional workgroup meetings to address tactical release issues, dependencies, status, production issues, and metrics.
Manage program/feature dependencies across multiple teams, Scrum teams, and partners.
Anticipate and remove obstacles with urgency to keep project timelines on track.
Provide monthly program reviews and sprint updates, highlighting goals, risks, and critical issues.
Foster a collaborative environment that supports creativity, innovation, and learning.
Support the organization’s strategy globally and drive change across the Technology, Marketing & Products org.
Create clarity from complexity and align teams toward common objectives.
Qualifications
10+ years (Director, TPM) of enterprise software/technical program or engineering management experience at an enterprise technology company.
7+ years of conducting and leading SaaS product development programs; understanding of the SaaS business model and product development lifecycle.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
Deep experience with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies; ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and team members.
Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills for cross-functional, matrix-managed environments.
Experience with Portfolio Management.
Ability to master technical subjects and technologies relevant to the program.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
