Job Description
Flybridge Staffing has an immediate opening for a full-time/direct hire Data Engineer in the Boca Raton Area. (hybrid) The Data Engineer will maintain and optimize our existing on-premise SQL Server and SSAS environment, while also playing a critical role in our transition to a modern cloud-based data platform (Azure or Microsoft Fabric). This position requires technical expertise in T-SQL, SSAS, and Power BI, combined with a strong understanding of data governance and master data management (MDM). ****NO SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE**** US Citizen, GC, EAD only, please. Responsibilities:
Design and develop reliable data models that power dashboards, scorecards, and self-service analytics across the business. Optimize on-premise SQL Server database performance through advanced query tuning, index management, and execution plan analysis. Write complex and optimized T-SQL queries to support both ad hoc and automated reporting needs. Design, maintain, and optimize SSAS cubes for performance (partitioning, processing efficiency, memory utilization). Build and maintain robust Power BI solutions, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and interactive visualizations. Ensure analytics layer is aligned with source systems and ETL processes. Contribute to the design and implementation of a future-state data platform in Azure or Microsoft Fabric. Develop cloud-based data models, pipelines, and governance structures to replace/augment legacy analytics. Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting assets. Proactively identify opportunities for reporting automation and efficiency improvements. Experience:
6-8+ years of experience in data engineering, BI Development or analytics engineering. Deep expertise in T-SQL, including performance tuning and working with large datasets. Proven expertise in Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query (M), and semantic data modeling. Expertise in SSAS (cubes, optimization, partitioning strategies). Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling (star/snowflake), and performance tuning. Experience with ETL tools SSIS and/or data integration frameworks. Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Synapse, Data Factory, SQL DB). Familiarity with Python, R, or other scripting languages for data analysis. Exposure to modern data tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric or Databricks). Experience with SQL and OLAP, various Azure services, Databricks, and Python. Experience creating ETL pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory. Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, or DevOps in a data environment.
