About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Project Manager to join our dynamic Project Management Team. This senior-level position is ideal for a self-driven professional with exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills. You will play a pivotal role in managing complex design and construction projects, acting as the Engineer of Record/Prime Consultant and leading multidisciplinary teams to successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage project design teams across disciplines.
- Oversee design coordination, evaluations, and quality control.
- Manage design change processes and contract administration.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Facilitate project meetings including kick-offs, coordination, and design reviews.
- Serve as the primary client contact and maintain strong client relationships.
- Coordinate with municipalities and contractors for permitting and construction.
- Ensure alignment with contracted services and manage additional service requests.
- Mentor staff and oversee team performance.
- Conduct site walkthroughs and lead construction coordination.
- Ensure compliance with client performance criteria.
- Manage multiple large-scale, fast-paced projects simultaneously.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership in managing large-scale design and construction projects.
- Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
- Deep understanding of engineering codes, standards, and construction processes.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in project management for large-scale design/construction.
- 5+ years of experience in technical projects (e.g., Mission Critical, Cleanroom, Manufacturing).
- Experience with hyperscale data center projects is highly desirable.
- 10-20 years of experience with design-build contractors or consulting engineering firms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SharePoint, ACC, and Procore.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture (or equivalent experience).
- PE or AIA License preferred.
- PMP Certification preferred.
- LEED or WELL Accreditation preferred.
Compensation & Work Environment
- Salary range: $150,000-$180,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- Remote or hybrid work options available.
- If hybrid, office locations include San Francisco and San Jose, CA.
