Custom Steel Fabrication / Construction Project Manager

Tennessee Region - Permanent - $90,000 to $120,000 + Bonus

An established steel fabrication and construction company is seeking a Project Manager to oversee engineered-to-order projects from design through final installation. This position manages coordination across drafting, detailing, production, and field operations, with a strong focus on construction scheduling, site execution, and project delivery for commercial and light industrial construction projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing steel fabrication and installation projects involving stairs, handrails, platforms, ladders, and other custom metal systems

• Proven background in commercial construction project management with strong scheduling and communication skills

• Experience working directly with owners, subcontractors, and general contractors on multi-phase projects

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with drafting and detailing teams; track drawing and submittal timelines

• Conduct field measurements and collaborate with adjacent construction trades

• Direct fabrication shop schedules, deliveries, and installation activities

• Oversee field operations, resolve site issues, and maintain safety compliance

• Manage change orders, budgets, and overall project financials

• Prepare close-out documentation and maintain strong client relationships

• Travel to regional construction sites, primarily within driving distance
