Pump Mechanic

This role requires a deep understanding of basic refrigeration, electrical engines, and controllers with a particular focus on pumps. Familiarity with dehumidification equipment from CDI and Munters is essential, along with knowledge of generators, power distribution, air conditioning, heaters, and shoring. The position also requires expertise in diesel equipment, generators, and air compressors, as well as an understanding of compressed air treatment systems like dryers, filters, and aftercoolers. The successful candidate will primarily service pump-related equipment and needs to be adept at reading electric schematics and hydraulic flow drawings. A basic understanding of large engines, such as those from Perkins, Queen Dealerships, Motor Power Supply, CAT, and Cummings, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain pump-related equipment.
  • Operate and troubleshoot dehumidification equipment.
  • Repair and maintain generators, power distribution systems, A/C units, heaters, and shoring equipment.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel equipment, generators, and air compressors.
  • Understand and manage compressed air treatment systems.
  • Interpret electric schematics and hydraulic flow drawings accurately.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on pumps and related systems.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in repairing and maintaining pump and power equipment.
  • Proficiency in hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to repair and assemble pump systems.
  • Experienced in working with large engines such as Cummings, CAT, and Perkins.
  • Proficient in equipment troubleshooting and mechanical repairs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification is a bonus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Work Environment

The standard shift is from Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Employees will start their day at the hub in San Leandro before being deployed for service jobs throughout the Bay Area. While on contract, mileage will be reimbursed until direct employment when a company vehicle will be provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Leandro, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $39.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
