Job SummaryThis position is a paraprofessional (working) level position that provides information technology client support services of varying complexity to higher education system employees. This position assists users in successfully utilizing their hardware and software workstations including troubleshooting operating systems, desktop applications, web applications, network connectivity, and hardware and software upgrades and installations.
ResponsibilitiesParticipates in the provision of quality system support services for University System of Georgia end users.
Supports users in successfully utilizing their hardware and software workstations including troubleshooting operating systems, desktop applications, web applications, network connectivity, and hardware and software upgrades and installations.
Responds to requests for support; analyzes issues, resolves problems, documents cases, and escalates issues as necessary.
Provides A/V setup, operation and breakdown during Board meetings, events, and conferences; provides onsite A/V support.
Participates in the development of instructional guides and provides training regarding telephones, A/V equipment, computer equipment and software, and network connectivity to end users.
Researches new and emerging technology; develops quotes for new equipment; recommends new equipment for purchasing; orders new equipment.
Participates in managing the inventory of IT assets; participates in recording of new equipment and equipment surpluses, manages equipment rental database.
Coordinates and supports department projects and activities.
Contacts and dispatches appropriate technical staff and assists with escalation and prioritization of requests.
Assists technical support personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components.
Assists with the operation of the Board Meetings and Track Sessions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree required
A minimum of two years experience providing direct technical support to
computer users
Experience with an Enterprise Management System such as JAMF Pro,
Ivanti and MS InTune.
Experience with an Enteprise Helpdesk ticketing system such as
ServiceNow.
Knowledge of specialized information technology, computers and
jobrelated software programs
Skill in analyzing information technology systems
Skill in solving problems and implementing solutions
Skill in oral and written communication
Skill in interpersonal relations
Ability to work independently
