Pickup and delivery of cargo to and from various destinations usually within proximity of the consolidation/distribution center is a crucial aspect of this job. The loading and unloading of trailers requires utilizing techniques, technology, and procedures similar to those used by dock workers. Depending on terminal location, actual duties and schedule may vary.
Key Responsibilities
- Exercise independent judgment when building and tearing down trailers to maximize time, resources, energy, and physical demands while complying with weight distribution laws.
- Perform tasks such as check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, tractor setup, and pickup and delivery of cargo.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently.
- Operate forklifts as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of one year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience is necessary; candidates with less than one year of experience may be eligible for training.
- Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements is mandatory.
- Minimum age requirement is 21 years.
- Good stable work record and safe driving record are essential.
- Passing DOT pre-employment drug screen and meeting DOT medical requirements are necessary.

Work hours may vary depending on service center location.
Frequent travel is expected (75% or more).
This is a weekly-paid hourly position with an hourly rate of $28.56.
