Overview
Retail Business Development Manager West Region (Remote) Premium Food & Beverage | Retail Grocery Sales Travel : 5075% across the Western U.S. An international premium food manufacturer is expanding rapidly in the U.S. market and seeking a Retail Business Development Manager to help drive retail growth across the Western U.S. This role will focus on opening new grocery accounts, strengthening relationships with existing partners, and increasing consumer awareness of a high-quality European-style product line in the charcuterie and deli category. This is a remote position covering all states west of Texas, plus portions of the Midwest and South, with significant travel required. Responsibilities Open new retail grocery accounts across the Western U.S. Manage and grow existing relationships with both retailers and distributor partners Prioritize direct retail engagement, taking full ownership of accounts and performance Lead in-store product demos, sampling, and events to build trial and awareness Collaborate with brokers and retail buyers to optimize product placement Use vendor portals and analytics tools to track performance and guide strategy Serve as a key field voice for market insights, trends, and opportunities
Ideal Candidate
710 years of experience in retail grocery sales or business development Proven success in opening new accounts and building a territory Experience with West Coast regional and national retailers (e.g., Safeway, Albertsons, Sprouts, Gelsons, Food Lion, HEB) Background in premium food, deli, or charcuterie is a plus, but not required Strong broker and buyer engagement experience Self-driven and highly organized, capable of managing a large territory remotely Bachelors degree preferred Comfortable with 5075% travel throughout the Western U.S.
