Title: Buyer Location: Raleigh, NC (Open to Hybrid) Type: Contract Work Schedule: M-F. OT as needed Pay Range: $30 - $32/HR Client is seeking a Buyer to support sourcing, supplier relationship management, and cost reduction initiatives. This role is focused on active electrical components, fabricated products, and other commodities as required. The position is based in Raleigh, NC Key Responsibilities Drive supplier engagement and performance through scheduled business reviews. Review shortages and open orders to assess materials demand. Align corporate commodity management goals with the CPDI Supply Chain team. Evaluate suppliers on pricing, scheduling, and planning of future and emergency orders. Conduct cost savings analysis and volume planning to reduce costs or mitigate increases. Develop new sources of supply for non-standard or unsupported material requirements. Collaborate with Engineering on material changes, revisions, and new product releases. Coordinate with division Senior Buyers to strengthen supply base capabilities. Support resolution of supplier Accounts Payable issues. Improve supply chain resiliency during component shortages and market challenges. Provide forecasts and purchasing strategies to balance demand and risk. Basic Qualifications Bachelors Degree in a related field. Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience. Experience with digital technology and processes. Knowledge of MRP/Material Planning Systems ( SAP required ). Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship. Relocation assistance not available; remote work option offered. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration. Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. CPIM or CPM certification. SAP system expert proficiency. Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Position Criteria Knowledge of general manufacturing practices. Familiarity with purchasing practices, contracting methods, and sourcing strategies. Ability to train and mentor new purchasing staff. Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
