Our network of care includes Royal Oaks Hospital and Adapt of Missouri. We are both a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC). Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

  • Outreach: Educate/Promote oral health through presentations in local schools, civic organizations, community programs and various other entities
  • Outreach: Promote and implement the Preventive Services Program (PSP) in local schools
  • Clinical: Review of health history
  • Clinical: Dental charting
  • Clinical: Take dental radiographs
  • Clinical: Perform infection control and sterilization procedures
  • Clinical: Educate patients about appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
  • Clinical: Counsel patients about nutrition and its impact on oral health
  • Clinical: Assist dentist with the following aspects of dentistry: oral surgery, restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and preventive
  • Clinical: Expanded Function Duties when registered with the state: (Restorative I, Restorative II, Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics)
  • Clinical: Follow CDC and OSHA regulations
  • Clinical: Assist in the management of medical/dental emergencies
  • Clinical: Assist with inventory management
  • Clinical: Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols instructed by dentist
  • Clinical: Perform patient vitals
  • Clinical: Professional communication amongst team, and patients
  • Clinical: Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions
  • Clinical: Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Clinical: Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
  • Clinical: Travel to other dental clinics, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned (which may include cross-training for front desk duties)

WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK

• Regular exposure to blood and/or body fluids
• Regular exposure to radiation sources
• Regular exposure to fumes and/or gases
• Regular exposure to biohazard waste materials
• Regular exposure to electrical hazards

  • High School/GED preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • At least two (2) years dental assisting experience preferred
  • Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing, and office management system software required
  • A valid, unrestricted driver\'s license and agency established minimum automobile coverage upon hire required

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • BLS certification or ability to obtain required

Compensation: $24.00-$26.00/hr dep on Ed/Exp/Expanded Function

Schedule: This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The schedule is Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:30pm.
