1315 Ballahack Road, Chesapeake, VA Job Summary:

Manages all operations of an activity consisting of several departments including retail store, personalized services, service station, food outlets, and concessionaires. Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the performance and mission effectiveness of the Exchange, ensuring compliance with all operating procedures. Focus on high-risk areas susceptible to loss such as inventory shrink, shoplifting, refund fraud, and associate theft. Promote an environment intolerant of theft, paperwork error, and inventory shrink. Plan and direct all operations to meet sales and profit goals, initiate corrective actions, and coordinate with department managers. Monitor activities and adjust staffing based on sales and service level projections. Ensure uniform merchandise and assistance to military customers. Conduct meetings with staff to ensure proper implementation of programs and customer service standards. Manage administrative functions including budget development and fund control within authorized limits. Research, develop, and manage projects, including preparing submissions. Handle correspondence related to operational and administrative matters, and prepare reports. Represent the activity in meetings and provide input on progress and achievements. Oversee personnel management and review requests for equipment and supplies. Implement policies of courtesy and service. Work under the guidance of the District Vice President or Operations Specialist, exercising judgment and initiative. Review work based on operational efficiency and goal achievement. Perform other duties as assigned. Training Requirements:

HazMat training within 90 days of hire. File Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 450) as required. Pass motor vehicle check and be able to operate a Government Vehicle. Experience and Education:

General Experience:

3 years in administrative, merchandising, or responsible work with knowledge of store operations and mature judgment. Substitution of Education for Experience:

1 year of college above high school for each 9 months of experience, up to a 4-year degree for 3 years of experience. Specialized Experience:

1 year in retail or service operations, management techniques, inventory control, customer service, supervision, and safety regulations. Additional Details:
