Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Earthwork Estimator with 5+ years of experience to join our team. The Earthwork Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating costs and resources for earthmoving and grading projects, including site preparation, excavation, fill operations, project plans, material and labor requirements. The candidate will source cost estimates to compile comprehensive bid proposals and determine the financial viability of construction projects. The ideal candidate has previous estimating experience, can work well within a team, and is comfortable working on multiple job sites and projects. Responsibilities: Analyzing Project Plans and Specifications:
Review blueprints and specifications to understand the project scope and identify necessary components. Project Analysis:
Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to understand earthwork requirements. Quantity Takeoff:
Measure and calculate quantities of earth to be moved, including excavation, fill, and grading. Cost Estimation:
Determine costs for labor, equipment, materials, and site challenges. Bid Preparation:
Develop detailed and competitive bids ensuring accuracy and profitability. Subcontractor Management:
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for quotes and timely delivery. Cost Control:
Monitor project costs and identify potential overruns or savings. Communication:
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders. Documentation:
Keep accurate records of estimates, bids, and costs. Site Visits:
Conduct visits to assess conditions and gather estimation data. Material and Labor Estimation:
Estimate quantities and hours needed for materials and tasks. Attention to Detail:
Ensure accuracy to avoid errors in cost projections. Time Management:
Manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Knowledge of Industry Standards:
Be familiar with standards, codes, and regulations.
