Supervisor, Operations - Casual
The Supervisor, Operations - Casual ensures all Service Center Operations work is performed according to approved Company procedures, standards, and specifications. This position supervises all activities of Service Center employees and support personnel engaged in loading and unloading activities. Responsibilities: Maintain appropriate load plans, and ensure proper load balance for safe vehicle operation. Plan, supervise, and control available resources associated with the timely, damage-free, and safe loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts. Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment. Foster safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage of hazardous materials. Provide a clean, safe working environment for all personnel and visiting customers. Provide training, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations, as needed. Manage multiple concurrent goals aligned with producing efficient and reliable service throughout our network. Develop knowledge of local contractual labor rules to applicable employees. Coordinate work assignments, and monitor performances. Assign job tasks to workers according to unloading and loading schedules. Requirements: Education:
Bachelor's Degree, preferred Experience:
2 years Operations experience, preferred Service Center, transportation, and/or other related experience, preferred Supervisory experience, preferred Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, preferred Additional Requirements: General knowledge of freight, imports, exports, and proper freight handling techniques. Competencies: Decision Making and Critical Thinking, Initiative, Managing Multiple Priorities, Mentoring Others, Process Management, Service Center Operation and Maintenance, Transportation Safety Work Hours:
Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload. Compensation:
