We seek a Linear Programming Engineer to join the Central Planning & Modeling Division, responsible for optimizing crude allocation and global manufacturing operations to maximize revenue and market opportunities. The division manages LP gatekeeping for refineries and maintains integrated global planning models for optimization and exploration of new markets. Your primary role includes consulting on complex engineering and LP problems, reviewing and updating simulation models, and building new refinery simulations. You will mentor junior engineers and provide specialized technical services. Key Responsibilities
Run rigorous simulations to identify deviations from actual conditions. Operate refinery models post-optimization to identify operational opportunities. Define data and processes for maintaining simulations. Develop non-linear equations for process modeling in PIMS AO. Maintain accurate hybrid models for LP engineering. Collaborate with process engineers to ensure simulation accuracy and optimize refinery performance. Perform back-casting and report on simulation gaps and mitigations. Support new project evaluations for downstream business. Assist in calibrating TBP and cut points with assay experts. Requirements: Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Minimum 9 years of experience in refinery consulting or operations, with expertise in rigorous simulation, especially Aspen HYSYS or PETROSIM (7+ years). Experience developing simulations for hydrocracking, FCC, DHT, reforming units, and complete refinery models. Strong knowledge of engineering practices, economic principles, and modeling integration.
