Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) Network Implementation Engineer with a strong focus on project management and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation of DWDM networks, ensuring high performance and reliability. This role requires a blend of technical acumen and project management skills to successfully deliver complex network solutions. Purpose : The Transmission Implementer will be part of the Transmission Networks team assisting the team with optical transmission network build. Key Responsibilities: · Project Management: ·Lead and manage DWDM network implementation projects from inception to completion of the Arelion Optical Transport Network. ·Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. ·Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including network planners, field engineers, and vendors. ·Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. ·Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. ·Interface with engineering, planning and collocation departments for space requirements, power requirements, network management, DCN ports, and transport backbone capacity. · Technical Expertise: ·Design and configure DWDM network solutions to meet client requirements. ·Implement and test DWDM systems, including hardware and software components. ·Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to DWDM networks. ·Optimize network performance and ensure compliance with industry standards. · Documentation and Reporting: ·Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals. ·Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders. ·Ensure all network changes are documented and adhere to change management processes. · Service Delivery and Vendor Interaction: ·Serve as the primary point of contact for delivery during project implementation. ·Collaborate with vendors to procure necessary equipment and services. Provide technical support and training to delivery and internal teams. Qualifications: ·Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. ·Proven experience in DWDM network design and implementation. ·Strong project management skills with experience in managing large-scale network projects. ·Proficiency in DWDM technologies and related network equipment from vendors like Ciena and Infinera ·Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. ·Strong communication and interpersonal skills. ·Project Management certification is a plus.
