Lead It Data Governance

Location: Reno, NV, US Remote, US The Lead Data Governance Analyst plays a pivotal role in developing, deploying, and managing enterprise-wide data governance processes that ensure the integrity, availability, and efficiency of Harley-Davidson's data assets. This role is instrumental in shaping a data-driven culture and enabling trusted decision-making across the organization. Leading Data and Vendor Strategy: Championing Data Governance: Promoting the importance of data governance and its impact on Harley-Davidson's competitive advantage. Vendor Management: Provide strategic oversight of vendor selection, onboarding, performance, contracts, and long-term alignment to ensure operational excellence. Professional Services Leadership: Provide strategic oversight of consulting engagements by defining scope, selecting partners, managing delivery and performance. Leading Through Change, Connection, and Coaching Change Management: Lead change management efforts to support data governance initiatives, ensuring organizational understanding, engagement, and adoption of new processes and standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, data operations, and business units to proactively identify, address, and resolve data governance challenges. Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and training to team members, fostering the development of data governance knowledge, skills, and best practices across the organization. Data Governance Execution and Oversight Deployment:

Assist with data governance deployment and operations by implementing/reinforcing the corporate data governance policies, processes, and standards, and communicating feedback for improvement. Documentation:

Document existing data flows, transformations, systems, and business rules and draft data descriptions, as well as analyze data to identify gaps and potential issues. Oversight:

Assist in monitoring and ensuring data quality, working with data governance team members, data owners, and data stewards to define data quality rules, identify and assess data quality issues, and measure improvements. Metadata Management:

Use the data governance tool to update the data catalog according to established processes, generate data lineage, and run data profiles. High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field Preferred Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience Data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data stewardship experience Familiarity with data architecture, data modeling, and enterprise data platforms Experience with business glossary development and data lineage mapping Proficiency in data profiling, data quality assessment, and root cause analysis Strong project management skills Experience in metadata management, business glossary development, and data stewardship Proficient in data lineage mapping, impact analysis, and governance policy enforcement Strong background in data quality profiling, rule implementation, and issue remediation Skilled in root cause analysis and resolution planning Advanced SQL skills for data validation and analysis Familiarity with ETL/data integration tools and both relational & non-relational databases Experience with reporting and visualization tools Harley-Davidson is an equal opportunity employer that continues to build a culture of inclusion, belonging and equity through our commitment to attracting and retaining diverse talent from all backgrounds, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law. The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
