Position Description The Consoles and Doors Design and Release Engineer (DRE) is responsible for the design, development, and release of
center console assemblies and interior door trim systems
for Stellantis production vehicles. The DRE will oversee the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring robust integration of storage, electronics, hardware, trim, and comfort features while delivering on cost, quality, safety, and timing targets.

Key Responsibilities
Lead supplier design reviews to ensure console and door systems meet Stellantis engineering standards, craftsmanship targets, and performance objectives.
Develop DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and boundary diagrams focused on durability, ergonomics, and user experience of consoles and door panels.
Drive integration of infotainment modules, HMI controls, HVAC registers, decorative trims, and storage solutions within the console architecture.
Ensure optimal packaging and functional performance of door hardware, electronics, sealing systems, and side airbag modules.
Maintain CAD model and drawing accuracy in NX and Teamcenter, applying robust GD&T practices.
Support prototype builds, validation testing, and plant launch activities; lead structured issue resolution for console and door-related concerns.
Ensure compliance with safety, NVH, and regulatory standards across all console and door systems.
Capture and apply lessons learned from past console and door programs to continuously improve manufacturability and cost efficiency.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering (ABET-accredited).
3–5 years of engineering experience in
console, door trim, or interior system design .
Knowledge of GD&T, safety standards, and ergonomic requirements for interior systems.
Proficiency with NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks, and PLM tools (Teamcenter).
Strong supplier management and cross-functional coordination skills.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.
