General Summary:
The PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician, is responsible for:
- Providing first assisting during surgical procedures
- Participates in the management of the intraoperative care of surgical patients.
- Ensuring operating room is properly set up and equipped for planned procedure
- Perform all intraoperative tasks as directed by the surgeon
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed
- Specialties covered but not limited to: Robotics, Orthopedics, Urogynecology, Plastic Surgery, Neurology, and Vascular.
Schedule Details:
- Campuses Covered: AdventHealth Central Florida Division
- 5-day operating schedule
- Call and weekend responsibility
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
- Strong communication skills
- Strong medical decision-making skills
Required Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an ARC-PA approved physician assistant program
- Minimum 2 years experience as a PA-C in surgical first assisting in at least one of our listed specialties.
- Preferred experience in spine and robotics
Required Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
- Current, valid and unrestricted Florida PA license
- NCCPA certification
- Current BLS (ACLS optional)
