Senior Civil Engineer/ Project Manager
to support a variety of projects in the West Region. Working on the Transportation team at GFT offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. This role involves delivering resilient, sustainable design and construction for highways, bridges, and multimodal roadway systems. What You'll Be Challenged To Do Organizes and develops project teams to execute specific phases or aspects of a project such as technical studies, project design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and project inspection. Delegation is required. Technical Lead – preparation of conceptual design and construction documents using Microstation/Geopak/OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and preparation of investigate design reports and studies. Supervise the work of junior staff and maintain a hands-on role in the production of deliverables. Demonstrate project team management, develop project scope of work, estimate manpower needs, prepare project schedules, and track progress. Coordinate projects with in-house engineering, architects, environmental/planning, and outside consultants. Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Ensure quality control and quality assurance guidelines are met. Train/mentor junior staff. Education | Experience At least 10 years of professional experience on a diverse range of projects. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and various engineering software systems. AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. What We Prefer You Bring Design experience for site development projects and construction administration is strongly preferred. Project management experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Software expertise in Civil 3D, GeoPak/OpenRoads, Bluebeam. Strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting. Seller/Doer – develops and presents proposals to clients and executes projects once received. Located locally and interested in mentoring, supervision, or team leadership. Experience with federal projects is a plus. Compensation The Salary range for this position is $145,000-$190,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
