Global Supply Manager, AWS Power and Cooling Procurement and Supply Chain
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. This position is located in Austin, TX or Seattle, WA. The AIS SC Power & Cooling team owns supply management for Data Center Power & Cooling Equipment. Our Supply Managers are experts who deliver the supply that supports AWS growth. You will manage the global supply chain for one or more categories in the Power and Cooling Equipment space supporting AWS Data Center build projects. Your primary responsibility is to maintain unconstrained supply globally and work with internal customers and business partners to understand demand signals and drive supply strategies to ensure continuity of supply. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage supply chain strategies on a global scale Drive strategic aspects of large complex cross-functional projects Develop and maintain supplier capacity modeling Understand demand inputs and position supply to support unconstrained growth at AWS scale in short- and long-term horizons Engage with global supply chain counterparts to drive leading practices Drive innovation through the supply chain Develop analytical reports to support decision making Manage supplier lead times to meet AWS business requirements Manage supplier performance and material allocation to demands by priority Manage cross-functional projects to meet commitments Identify and realize opportunities for sustainable, scalable advantage in your category Travel up to 20% of the year Function Specific Work Activities
Analyze industry trends and technology to identify supply base opportunities and minimize risk Identify opportunities to consolidate the supply base using system-level tools Understand forecasting, demand planning, material planning, and manufacturing processes to verify supply commitments Manage supply buffers and allocation to shorten lead times and build resiliency Drive supplier improvement initiatives to lower risk and lead times Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes and policies in mutually beneficial ways Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field, or 3+ years related experience in lieu of a degree 5+ years experience in supply chain management and/or supply planning, or 3+ years with advanced degree 2+ years experience with data analysis using Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc. 2+ years experience in program, project, or product management Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing complex projects with multifaceted inputs and outputs End-to-end knowledge of supply chain operations and systems Experience in data centers or infrastructure providers MBA or advanced degree in engineering, supply chain or quantitative fields Ability to model supply chain strategies and assess cost, performance, and risk Global supply chain experience; multilingual abilities preferred 6+ years of relevant supply chain experience Strong communication across all organizational levels Experience creating innovative global supply strategies with tangible business benefits Experience designing strategy and execution roadmaps for supply chains Direct responsibility for modeling strategies in a growing, complex demand environment Experience with freight management, import/export requirements, and contract logistics Equal Opportunity Employer: Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
