We are seeking a proactive and skilled Director of Cyber Security to join our team, serving both Socket Fiber and IdeaTek. You will be responsible for protecting our network infrastructure, customer data, and internal systems from evolving cyber threats, and you will partner with other company leaders to build a culture of security awareness. Location

This role supports operations across Kansas (Wichita and Buhler) and Missouri (Columbia). Up to 30% travel; remote work flexibility available. Key Responsibilities

Technical Oversight: Design, implement, and manage security architecture; oversee daily security monitoring, log analysis, and threat detection; direct vulnerability management, penetration testing, and remediation; lead the security incident response lifecycle. Compliance & Governance: Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls; monitor regulatory requirements and data protection laws; establish governance for risk management, access control, change management, and incident reporting; prepare security metrics and reports. Organizational Enablement: Provide security training; partner with business units to integrate security; liaison between executive leadership, IT, and stakeholders; stay informed on threats and best practices in telecom/ISP. Requirements

Advanced training in Cyber Security, IT, CS, or related discipline. 5+ years in progressively responsible cybersecurity roles, including network security, system administration, and incident response. Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS, GDPR, HIPAA where applicable). Proficiency with enterprise security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability management). Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot and make decisions under pressure. Strong communication skills to convey technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferences

Experience in Telecommunications or ISP industry. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, or CompTIA Security+. Why Work At IdeaTek
