Experience Design Architect (PST US / Canada, Remote)

Position overview and responsibilities for a senior, hands-on role shaping the experience architecture of Autodesk's Live technology layer for real-time collaboration, streaming data, and next-generation simulation across products. Position Overview

We are building the foundation of a new

Live technology layer

for the Autodesk Platform. This layer will enable

real-time collaboration, streaming data, and next-generation simulation

across our products — transforming how design decisions are made. As our

Experience Design Architect , you will shape how people experience this new way of working. You’ll design intuitive, multi-user workflows where humans and AI work side by side, helping customers make better decisions faster than ever before. This is a

senior, hands-on role . You’ll partner directly with our general manager, distinguished engineers, and product leaders across Autodesk. You will define the

experience architecture of Live

— from how people and AI interact, to how conversations, presence, and data updates feel natural, to how simulations provide immediate, useful feedback. Responsibilities

Define the experience strategy for Design & Make Live, ensuring workflows are human-centered, reality-connected, and AI-augmented Architect multi-user interaction patterns (voice, presence, conversation, simulation feedback) that feel natural and scalable across industries Partner with engineering leads to translate platform capabilities (Live Collaboration, Live Data, Realistic Simulation) into compelling, usable workflows Lead rapid prototyping and concept validation to explore new interaction paradigms, leveraging AI to accelerate iteration Collaborate with internal product teams from our three Industry Clouds — Forma, Fusion, and Flow to integrate Live experiences into real customer workflows Act as the voice of experience design in a small, senior team—balancing vision with pragmatic delivery Champion our principles: Live by Default, Reality-Connected, Human-AI Partnership, and Experience First Minimum Qualifications

10+ years in UX architecture, interaction design, or product design, with experience at the system or platform level (not just feature design) Strong track record of designing for emerging technologies (AI, real-time collaboration, XR, multi-modal interaction) Ability to think holistically across data, interaction, and visualization, not just UI screens Excellent collaboration skills with senior engineers and product leaders Comfort working in a small, autonomous, high-trust team with broad responsibility Based in the Pacific Time Zone (or able to work core hours) Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing AI-augmented workflows where humans and intelligent systems collaborate Familiarity with architecture, engineering, or manufacturing workflows Expertise in design systems and scalable interaction patterns Strong storytelling skills to communicate vision and prototypes to executives and partners About Autodesk
