Role Summary The Manager, Strategic Sourcing will report to the U.S. Head of Procurement and be responsible for supporting indirect spend categories. This includes developing and executing sourcing strategies that deliver value by reducing risk, improving quality, and reducing costs. This position leads cross-functional teams and interfaces with key internal clients to obtain their sponsorship, understand their sourcing needs, perform market research, devise sourcing strategies, lead supplier selection processes (e.g., competitive bidding, partnership development, consolidation/reducing complexities of the buy), and negotiate agreements. This role also leads broader category management, including supplier relationship management, by partnering with the assigned business units to facilitate supplier performance monitoring, continuous improvement, and innovation. Primary Responsibilities Develop sourcing strategies within assigned category by analyzing category spend, obtaining business requirements from internal clients, leading cross-functional sourcing teams, conducting market research, and creating a sourcing strategy from due diligence elements Execute sourcing strategies by leading cross-functional teams, developing and managing sourcing implementation plans, negotiating contracts, and transitioning to business units for implementation Manage supplier relationships through development and tracking of key performance indicators for the category, facilitating strategic supplier meetings that drive adherence to contractual agreements, continuous improvement and innovation Contract lifecycle management (e.g., renewing expiring contracts, updating pricing annually), maintaining category databases, scanning the marketplace for changes and developing risk mitigation plans Develop and foster relationships with preferred/critical suppliers to ensure clear communication and contracted levels of service, quality, delivery, and cost Co-lead the clinical trial budget estimation and validation processes with the clinical operations organization in partnership with Finance Deliver day-to-day operational excellence and timely execution of POs, Supplier Add Process, and External Spend Reporting; support migration to e-sourcing and procurement systems, tools, processes and guidelines Continuous department/category process improvements and personal development Education and Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Life Science/Quality/Engineering or Education or related field; MBA preferred 5+ years' experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical or supply chain 3+ years in a GMP environment with understanding of regulations Experience in a matrix environment with indirect reporting structures Specialized technical expertise in operations, supply chain, biotech/pharma, GMPs, sourcing, and business acumen Effective communication with business unit clients Strong project management, presentation skills, and ability to enhance and execute processes; contribute to development of new/enhanced methodologies Ability to initiate new project proposals aligned with corporate objectives Travel and Location Hybrid role with 3 days a week in office (Boston Seaport District) Expected Travel: 0-10% Servier’s Commitment We’re an organization committed to modelling diversity, equity, and inclusion for the industry, and to maintaining an inclusive environment with equitable treatment for all.
