Join Global Partners LP as our
Business Intelligence Manager
for the Retail business unit. Embedded with the Retail unit, you will lead analytics strategy, deliver insights and scalable data products, and drive data-driven decisions across Merchandising, Category Management, Operations, Food Service, and Marketing. Responsibilities
Lead and mentor (player-coach) a team of BI analysts, fostering analytical rigor, technical skill development, and a culture of curiosity and data-driven insights. Partner with Retail leadership to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop robust analytical frameworks to measure business performance, identify trends, and track progress against strategic goals. Translate ambiguous business questions into specific, testable hypotheses and analytical plans; proactively identify areas where data analysis can deliver significant value. Lead the end-to-end development, delivery, and optimization of BI solutions, including dashboards and reports, utilizing SQL and BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, etc.). Communicate complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, through data storytelling and visualizations. Conduct deep-dive analyses using SQL, BI tools and Python/R to uncover root causes, identify opportunities, and quantify business impact. Own the design, development, and continuous improvement of core Retail dashboards and reporting suites, ensuring data accuracy and relevance for Retail verticals. Champion data literacy, promote self-service BI adoption, and drive data governance best practices within the Retail unit. Collaborate with central data teams to influence data models and infrastructure supporting robust retail analytics. Explore and apply appropriate statistical techniques or basic forecasting models for retail challenges (e.g., customer behavior analysis or demand planning) as nice-to-have. 5-7+ years in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics, with progressive responsibility. 2-3+ years of experience leading projects or mentoring analytical staff. Experience translating business needs into analytical solutions within Retail, C-Store, eCommerce, or related industries. Expert-level SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Deep expertise with major BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) including dashboard design and optimization. Strong data storytelling and communication skills for diverse audiences. Leadership and collaboration skills; ability to manage and develop analysts as a player-coach. Retail domain business acumen and problem-solving. Familiarity with data preparation/modeling tools (e.g., dbt, sqlmesh) and Python or R for analysis and automation. Experience with statistical analysis, forecasting, or basic predictive modeling.
