About the role
The Voice UX Designer will be responsible for creating intuitive, user-centered design solutions that enhance the user experience across federal systems, leveraging research, technical expertise, and accessibility standards to deliver innovative and impactful outcomes. The Voice UX Designer will work closely with government counterparts, digital experience teams, and a cross-functional team to deliver secure, high-quality solutions and will be adept at leveraging a structured approach to decision-making that aligns with IT security best practices, compliance requirements, and measurable outcomes. This is a full-time position contingent on contract award. The position is remote within the contiguous United States. Responsibilities
Create natural and user-friendly voice interaction flows for an AI-powered customer experience platform. Create voice scripts, prompts, and dialogue paths that align with user needs and project goals. Conduct user research to inform and validate design decisions, addressing broad questions that shape the direction of future projects and target audience behaviors, needs, and pain points. Run usability tests with voice prototypes, analyze feedback, and iterate as necessary. Advocate for user-centered design principles while navigating complex technical environments to deliver exceptional user experiences. Ensure all design work adheres to federal accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance, and advocate for inclusive design practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, to ensure design solutions are technically feasible and aligned with project goals including implementing voice experiences. Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including wireframes, prototypes, and user flows, to support iterative development processes, contributing to the creation/maintenance of a voice UX design system or library. Incorporate quality assurance (QA) processes into the design lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration and functional excellence. Act as a subject matter expert in the intersection of design and technology, mentoring team members and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design strategies and processes. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in design, user research, and working on cross-functional teams, preferably in federal or highly regulated environments. Demonstrated expertise in user-centered design principles and methodologies, including user research, usability testing, and accessibility compliance (e.g., Section 508). Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar. Hands-on experience with Conversational AI using platforms such as Genesys Cloud, Google Dialogflow CX, Amazon Lex, Microsoft Bot Framework Experience with speech recognition, text-to-speech, and voice biometrics Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment Perks and Benefits
