Overview
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Software Engineer Java with a Top Secret/SCI clearance and a Counter Intel Polygraph to work on-site at Schriever SFB, near Colorado Springs, CO for the Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program. The FROST software team develops and maintains containerized software to support real-time on-orbit operations, launch ascent, and End-of-Life operations for NRO missions. The role includes collaborating with internal and external developers and integrating components into a larger framework, with opportunities to work on new capabilities and enhancements. The position involves liaison with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and Satellite Control Network (SCN) to support the program and provide satellite support services to the mission-critical customer. Responsibilities
Maintain software used to establish connections for status and control of ground equipment. Provide TS/SCI Java software development and perform all aspects of software engineering support required to implement systems. Maintain software that handles scheduling of on-orbit contacts and orbit calculations. Write software that supports launch operations with trajectory calculations for SpaceX and ULA vendors. Assist team members primarily on Java development and utilizing the Spring Boot framework. Develop React-based user interfaces for operator interaction. Assist in writing microservices that interact with a variety of vendor interfaces for data processing. Deploy new containerized applications in Kubernetes environments. Assist with new customer requests by extending and enhancing existing capabilities and creating new ones where needed. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience or a Master’s with 6 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent with 12 years of experience (in lieu of degree). On-site work at Schriever SFB, near Colorado Springs, CO. Active TS/SCI clearance and current CI poly. Experience and proficiency with Java. Knowledge of Spring Boot or similar frameworks. Knowledge of IDEs for Java development or similar experience. Experience with GitLab or similar version control systems. Software design and development experience. Experience with Java build systems. Ability to collaborate with internal and external developers and integrate components into a larger framework with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Git distributed version control. NoSQL databases experience (e.g., MongoDB). Docker/Kubernetes experience. Experience using or writing Ansible automation scripts. Experience with VMware toolsets. Experience with C++ programming language. Working knowledge of SQL databases. Compensation and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00. The salary range represents a general guideline and may vary based on the scope of the role, candidate experience, and market conditions.
