Position Overview
Believe in Me is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Quality Assurance (QA) Lead to oversee our quality assurance processes for the development of the 1st Gen College Hub app. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering first-generation college students, we are in the process of creating a comprehensive app that offers resources, guidance, and support to help these students navigate the challenges of higher education. The Volunteer QA Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring the app's quality, reliability, and user satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures for the app development process. Lead a team of volunteer QA testers in identifying defects, documenting bugs, and verifying fixes. Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical specifications. Collaborate with the App Development Team to understand functionalities, identify critical areas for testing, and prioritize testing activities. Manage the tracking and resolution of defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely fixes. Advocate for user needs, ensuring that the app's UI/UX design and functionalities meet high-quality standards and are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. Facilitate regular QA team meetings to review testing progress, discuss challenges, and plan for upcoming testing phases. Report on QA activities, test results, and the status of bug resolution to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by soliciting feedback from users and team members and incorporating it into future test plans. Stay updated on new testing tools, methodologies, and industry best practices to enhance the QA process. Qualifications
Proven experience in software quality assurance, with a strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience in developing and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases. Familiarity with bug-tracking tools and software development tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and determine root causes. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of volunteer testers. Commitment to the mission of Believe in Me and a passion for making a difference in the lives of first-generation college students.
