The Fire Brigade Technician Level 4 is a critical member of the internal fire brigade team, responsible for supporting fire prevention, emergency response, and life safety initiatives. This role supports compliance with fire safety regulations, assists in maintaining firefighting equipment, and actively participates in emergency response operations. The Fire Technician contributes to a strong safety culture by executing fire suppression tactics when necessary and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance fire risk mitigation strategies. Essential Duties

Shift Coverage & Emergency Response: Provide 12-hour shift coverage, including flexible day/night shifts to cover for other technicians Respond to HAZMAT and fire incidents, ensuring rapid and effective emergency support Respond to Permit to Work requests as required Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of site-specific hazards and response procedures Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper respirator seal during emergency response Fire Brigade Training & Safety Education: Assist with Fire Brigade training preparation, logistics, scheduling, and tracking Assist in developing and refining fire safety procedures, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements Lead fire drills and emergency response training sessions to improve team readiness and efficiency Function as a mentor for junior fire brigade team members, providing guidance on best practices, safety protocols, and emergency response tactics Educate site personnel on Rapid Response Team (RRT) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) requirements and standards Conduct new hire training and participate in ongoing safety education programs in coordination with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Provide coaching to maintain a strong safety culture Participate in training on confined space, HAZMAT, fire, and EMS responses Ability to train others at same or lower level within functional area Equipment & Inventory Management: Operate and maintain tools and equipment within functional area Conduct inspections and inventory checks vehicles Ensure Fire Brigade equipment areas are restocked with required equipment and always maintained in a ready state Support advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of emergency response equipment Maintain equipment for confined space rescue, technical rescue, HAZMAT, fire, and EMS Work with vendors to order new supplies and equipment Assist with respirator fit testing and cylinder refills Risk Management & Safety Compliance: Assist in data collection, tracking, and trend analysis to support operational efficiency and informed decision-making Work with teams on hazard identification, evaluation, and control to implement risk mitigation strategies Manage and assist in the development and implementation of site-specific emergency management and safety procedures Review safety data, analyze trends, and collaborate with site personnel to develop action plans Participate in OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) assessments and audits Provide technical assistance and guidance to site personnel Assist with preparation, coordination, and completion of site audits Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner Support proper implementation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications General Responsibilities: Ability to work all schedule shift hours Work with the site to promote a strong safety culture Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner, supporting all Emergency Management requirements Provide support to PECNA Facilities Fire Systems staff and EHS for requested collaboration Perform other duties as assigned Administrative: Serve as a backup to the Fire Supervisor when needed, including during vacation periods, to ensure continuity in leadership and fire safety operations May be assigned to lead and manage specific programs as determined by organizational needs Attend and lead meetings as needed such as daily briefings, interdepartmental coordination meetings, and post incident reviews Assist with other duties as assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: To ensure health and safety in the workplace and for employee protection, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. A respirator fit test will be required based on functional area. Qualifications: Required and/or Preferred

Education: Required: High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of prior experience in functional area Preferred: Fire Science or equivalent BS Degree Essential Qualifications: 4.5+ years of relevant experience within the emergency response profession Capable of performing multiple tasks at various levels of complexity Demonstrated leadership skills / experience Emergency response experience FEMA 100, 200, 700, and 800 courses FEMA Professional Series (ability to complete within 6 months of hire) Fire Suppression & Prevention Knowledge of firefighting tactics, and fire behavior Knowledge and experience with Incident Command System (ICS) principals Proficient in Microsoft 365 to include Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and Power Point (+other programs as required) Self-Motivated / Team oriented Strong customer service skills Preferred Qualifications: 6+ years of relevant experience within the emergency response profession Industrial Firefighting Experience Manufacturing Operations Experience Thorough working understanding of OSHA 1910 standards and regulations Preferred Certification(s): CPR Certification Firefighter 2 Certification Confined Space Rescue Certification or experience Fire Officer 1 Certification Hazmat Technician Certification or experience Physical Activities: Sit: 10% Walk: 30% Stand: 30% Lift: 30% Required Lifting and Carrying: Up to 10 lbs.: Required Up to 20 lbs.: Required Up to 35 lbs.: Required Team-lift
