Responsibilities

Join as a Tax Director focused on real estate clients, delivering industry-focused tax advisory and compliance services to middle market real estate clients.

Work side-by-side with firm leadership to serve clients and build the business, having a direct impact on the firm’s success.

Mentor and coach staff to develop technical and professional skills.

Offer upward career trajectory and flexibility in how and where you work while building meaningful client, teammate, and leadership relationships.

Assist in providing compliance and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational affluent families, family offices and their private businesses and/or investment entities.

Perform complex individual, partnership, S-corp, trust, estate, gift and state tax returns; deliver proactive tax planning and strategic consulting including federal estate, gift, charitable planning and generation skipping tax.

Build technical competence by staying current on trends, developments and technical authorities and applying them to complex situations.

Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.

Network and build strong relationships internally and externally to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue.

Invest in professional development through firm-wide learning and development programs.

Support the growth and development of team members through Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet professional goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or law, or a related business degree; master's or advanced degree desirable

CPA, JD or EA required

Eight (8)+ years’ experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm

Five (5)+ years’ supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates

Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management and communication skills

Ability to lead and supervise others, deliver exceptional client service, and stay current on applicable strategies

Strong ethical standards and sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely project completion

Proficiency in software and Microsoft Suite

Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred

Compensation for this role ranges from $191,260 to $362,600. Actual compensation is influenced by factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
