Overview

Director of Community Engagement at International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ). Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid). This role reports to the Senior Director of Brand Marketing and Creative Strategy and is responsible for shaping and managing the organization's social media presence to enhance brand visibility, audience engagement, and organizational objectives. The Director leads a team of social media professionals, creates content across platforms (Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook), analyzes performance metrics, stays ahead of emerging trends, manages budgets, and builds relationships with influencers and stakeholders while ensuring consistent brand messaging. The position supports IFCJ's mission and resonates with a global audience. Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr. This range is provided by IFCJ; your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more. Responsibilities Develop and maintain a strategic vision and priorities for the Fellowship's social media activities, with specific, measurable objectives aligned to broader business goals. Determine optimal timing, channels, and methods for engaging the target audience (Evangelical Christians) on social media. Implement the social media strategy to raise awareness of the organization's vision, services, and global leadership; foster audience involvement and engagement; and strengthen connection and affinity for The Fellowship. Leverage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others) to engage the target audience and build connections related to Israel and Jewish communities. Develop campaigns highlighting The Fellowships humanitarian aid and support activities in Israel, Ukraine, and Jewish communities worldwide. Oversee high-profile social media accounts; monitor and analyze metrics; deliver reports; and use insights to improve future campaigns.

Content Creation and Community Management

Oversee development and curation of engaging content across social platforms; ensure content aligns with The Fellowships strategy and brand guidelines. Lead influencer strategy, user-generated content, and social storytelling efforts. Oversee community management, ensuring timely and professional responses to comments and inquiries.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Partner with Marketing leadership and internal stakeholders to build a comprehensive strategy that enhances engagement and participation, contributing to organizational goals. Collaborate with peers in Paid Media, Content, Brand, Constituent Experience, Development, Advocacy, and other teams. Work with the Global CEO and Chief Marketing Officer to align social media strategies with the organization's vision. Collaborate with the US Board Chairman on social media strategy as needed.

Supervisory and Administrative

Hire, onboard, and develop direct reports; conduct regular check-ins to monitor progress and provide feedback. Provide staff with tools and resources for effective performance and ongoing professional development. Coach and collaborate on goal setting and performance conversations; develop and manage standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.

Required skills and qualifications

Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of related agency or business experience. Social media management or director experience in a nonprofit setting is preferred. Exceptional verbal and written communication; strong project management; high accuracy and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities under pressure. Proficiency with Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and other analytics tools; familiarity with SEO principles; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of current events in relevant regions; familiarity with Christian and Jewish traditions and U.S./Israeli cultures. Willingness to work outside standard hours for emergencies or special events.
