Firewood Cutting and Hauling Superstar!

Volunteer Services (VS) with Catholic Community Services (CCS) are in great need of more volunteers to help cut up hunks of trees at various spots throughout Mason and Thurston counties to be hauled to our wood banks. VS has two wood banks, one in Shelton and one in Olympia, at private locations. Every year we work hard to allocate donated firewood (or hunks of trees to saw up into firewood sized pieces!), resupply our wood banks, and then in the cold months deliver emergency loads of firewood to low-income seniors and adults with disabilities who rely on firewood as their primary source of heat throughout Mason, Thurston, and Lewis counties. Having a truck to haul wood and/or tools to cut up wood are greatly recommended. Make a difference in someone's life and bring the gift of warmth! Volunteer as little or as often as you'd like and where you'd like. Even what may seem like the littlest bit of volunteering can impact someone's ability to live safely and independently in their own home!
