MedStar Health is looking for a PRN Radiological Technologist to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. We are seeking someone with Monday through Friday availability, day shift. Responsibilities
Operate conventional, fluoroscopic, and portable radiology equipment to obtain routine radiographs of designated body areas according to physician specification and radiographic protocols. Prepare patient for radiograph. Lift patient onto and off examination table. Properly position patient for X-ray exam, adjust immobilization devices and affix appropriate radiation shielding. Assist in the administration of drugs and/or contrast agents. Calculate and select proper technical factors and use correct film/screen combinations. Process and develop film. Enter data into the Radiology Information System (MARS) for medical records, billing, statistics, and quality assurance purposes. Provide guidance to radiology students as needed. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Ensure the exam room contains the proper supplies for the diagnostic procedures. Perform various clerical tasks including answering phones, relaying messages, and scheduling exams. Report equipment malfunction to supervisory personnel. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED. Associate degree in applied science preferred. Previous job experience. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification is mandatory within 1 year. This position has a hiring range of $29.15 - $51.68. Additional Details
