Overview
Role:
Unpaid position; manages the company's financial assets. Reports To: Board of Directors.
Purpose of the Role:
The President of Unity Bands provides visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure the organization's mission to support healthcare workers is effectively carried out. The President is responsible for overseeing all organizational operations, building key partnerships, managing executive relationships, and ensuring that Unity Bands achieves its goals through collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.
Provide guidance and oversight to all departments, ensuring alignment with the mission and long-term vision of Unity Bands.
Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization in public engagements, media, and partner relations.
Work closely with the Board of Directors to shape the organization’s strategic direction.
Ensure that the Board is informed of all critical developments, including program and financial updates, key partnerships, and major organizational decisions.
Facilitate regular Board meetings and contribute to effective governance practices.
Team & Culture Development:
Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture within the organization, empowering staff and volunteers.
Lead, mentor, and inspire the executive team, setting expectations for high performance and personal development.
Ensure efficient and transparent communication across the organization.
Oversee all organizational operations, including HR, finance, volunteer management, and outreach efforts, ensuring that each function runs smoothly and aligns with Unity Bands' goals.
Collaborate with the Finance Committee to manage budgets, fundraising efforts, and ensure financial sustainability.
Monitor organizational performance through key performance indicators and report progress to the Board.
Partnerships & Community Engagement:
Cultivate relationships with healthcare institutions, community partners, donors, and other stakeholders to further Unity Bands’ mission.
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships that contribute to program development and organizational growth.
Represent Unity Bands in external events and initiatives that enhance visibility and impact.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within a non-profit or community-based organization.
Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead an organization through growth and change while fostering a positive organizational culture.
Excellent communication, fundraising, and partnership-building skills.
Familiarity with healthcare, volunteer organizations, or non-profits is preferred but not required.
