About this opportunity This isn’t a maintenance role—it’s built it, shape the future, make the right bets. You will define a lightweight, world-class Quality Operating System (QOS) and work with the team to make it real—grounded in data, consistency, and accountability—spanning Engineering & Design, suppliers, manufacturing, logistics, site operations, and sales/handover. Quality must be a competitive advantage for Aro Homes. This position requires to work in Sacramento, CA Plant and on job sites in South Bay Area!
What You’ll Own
Quality Strategy & QOS: Quality Operating System
Starting with the Customer and working with the Team, you will design and deploy Aro’s QOS (standards, specifications, control plans, expectations, checklists) across a few key Quality Gates. These Gates will cover our entire process from suppliers, subcontractors, manufacturing, logistics, site operations and sales.
Working with Engineering and Sales, define CTQs (critical-to-quality) acceptance criteria and stop-the-line rules. Embed quality at the source.
Establish clear visual management and dashboards at each Gate and a companywide roll-up.
Aggressively leverage AI in everything from collection of data to analysis to problem solving.
Ensure the QOS is faster, better and cheaper than our competitors.
Culture & Coaching
Build a pervasive, “Zero-in Zero-out” Quality mindset. Don’t accept, don’t create and don’t pass defects.
Train teams on 5-Whys, fishbone, DMAIC, and error-proofing (poka-yoke).
Promote a blame-free, facts-first problem-solving culture; celebrate fix-rate, not find-rate
Model Aro values: Bias for Speed, Build People Up, Own It, Raise the Bar
Warranty & Aro Homes inhouse Subcontractor LLC
Lead Aro’s in-house Subcontractor LLC to investigate and remediate warranty issues, exceeding Customer expectations.
Handle all issues identified after Punch List completion.
Partner with the Sales team to ensure our Homes are Customer ready. This may include site specific work outside the scope of the Site Ops team.
What Success Looks Like
First 30–60 days : Map current state; define CTQs and Rolling Top 5 defects across the company. Agree on v1 Quality Dashboards wireframes. Define our benchmark with respect to Quality systems. Define Leading Indicators that disproportionately impact final Customer Quality.
90 days : Quality Gate monthly targets established for the next 12 months. Gap Closure Action Plans active at each Gate. Begin collecting Quality feedback for Supplier & Subcontractor scorecards.
12 Months : An efficient, reliable QOS that is a significant competitive advantage for Aro Homes. Extreme accountability throughout with a “Zero-in, Zero-out” Quality attitude.
Qualifications
8–12+ years in Manufacturing Quality.
Built or scaled a data-driven QOS that operators actually use and delivers real results.
Strong data fluency (dashboards, Pareto, trend, basic stats, quality tools, DFMEA); can turn findings into prioritized actions.
Bonus: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Shainin, DFM, DFA exposure.
Leadership: Coach, simplify, and drive change throughout the company.
